 This is an active-circuitry remote chip mounting solution. All address and data information is boosted, allowing chips to be mounted several feet (2-3) away from the target device!
 
The shrouded angle header is designed for use with an EMUC-series emulation-style ribbon cable (available separately). The Chip Extender works very well when coupled with the Socket Booster, but it can be used alone as well.
 
Think of the Chip Extender as a poor man's Ostrich, allowing you to swap chips in a remote location out from under the dash. You can snap in a C2 chip directly, or add an S2 ZIF for added quick-swap versatility.

Very handy

The chip extender is a very handy piece of equipment. Saves having the ecu pulled out from under the dash. Also works as an extension for the ostrich. Literally takes 5 seconds to swap the chip now.

Nice piece!!

Nice piece!! Since I was replacing an Ostrich II with this (my tune is done, so wanted to run something more permanent), it was a nice bonus that the chip extender comes in the same housing with the same ribbon cable interconnect as the Ostrich II. Very easy to swap back and forth if I want to do any more tuning. Moates always puts a good amount of thought into their products. Was very happy to see they got back into business.
